Created in celebration of the Coronation of King Charles III, ‘His Majesty’ focuses on the other big star of the show, St. Edward’s Crown. Last worn by Queen Elizabeth in 1953, this historic centrepiece of the Crown Jewels is used only at the actual moment of the coronation. British artist Stephen Graham has captured its stately opulence, but has given it a less formal interpretation with drips and paint splatters to establish its symbolic relationship with a monarchy which is both ancient and modern. Measuring 19 x 24”, ‘His Majesty’ has been released as a limited edition of 195 on paper.
